Empire mirror oval cartouche ormolu 1820

Empire mahogany mirror with arched pediment top oval cartouche and ormolu mount. Original patina to frame and with original silvered glass- a value point as antique mirror glass was usually more expensive to produce than the wooden frame that held them. The architectural top above an oval shaped insert with egg and dart carved frame in flame mahogany. A neoclassical medusa mask in bronze ormolu mounted within the oval insert. The mirror panel is flanked by turned and carved empire pilaster columns. Original silvered mirror glass is a value point with shaped front panel below
