A Danish Rococo commode in walnut with gilded carved ornamentation in the manner of the 18th century master cabinet maker Mathias Ortmann (1700-1757). The solid oak bombe shape body with three drawers and gilt bronze mounts . The shape and application of highly figurative Italian walnut veneers is typical of the Ortmann style of first half of the 18th century. Marquetry and well shaped curves and in excellent condition.
Completely hand made even down to the dovetailed drawers, possibly to replicate an existing 18th century original to match.
