Large pair of ornate Biedermeier chairs with curved backs form Vienna circa 1820.
Made from solid cherrywood, these rare chairs have original patina surface and have recently been upholstered in the traditional manne rof the period. The ususual curved backs or lyre shape with carved knot back splat. Raised on elegant cherrywood cabriole legs to fron and sabre rear legs. The back legs and back rests strengthened in the original design with cherrywood cross grained inserts.
Quite likely made by the Danhauser factory in Vienna, similar examples exist in the Mak and the Hofmoebel Sammlung.
