French ormolu table plateau tray stand

Big French gilt bronze antique French Louis XVI heavy mirror top table plateau of very large size. These rare bronzes tableau were used as a table platform upon which precious candelabra etc were presented in the centre of the banquet table. The raised section with its mirror drawers away damaging temperatures from the table top surface, such as Candelabra, hot soup tureens or chilled champagne or ice buckets etc whilst displaying their magnificence.
