Bronze Sienna marble urn Regency 1810

Antique Regency bronze Medici vase with acanthus pedestal and anchor centre, suroounded by laurel wreath banding, emblems of victory. Possibly made for Nelson as a memento of the battle of Trafalgar ..."the Sweet smell of Success" in his naval victories against Napoleon. The Sienna marble base also alludes to Napoleon's Italian heritage. Complete with the original pierced shaped cover for the cup or urn this pastille burner is a superb quality casting.
