French fold over console desk table 1820

Antique French Charles X period fold over Writing table in solid cuban mahogany with fitted drawer . The top with well polished finish over an elegant rounded corned support . A centre drawer with mother of pearl keyhole escutcheon lock and working key. Raised on superbly carved mahogany reeded legs in the French Empire manner. The rear legs are butterfly hinged for strudy stability. Both rear legs open out to support the solid mahogany fold over top. ideal as a console hall table or as a small desk, these tea tables were usually used for occasional dining or tea cake or supper dining.
