Xmas Sale: Was $3,850 & Now $2,850: A stylish pen & ink portrait of Australian artist Elaine Haxton in New York drawn in 1947 when she shared a studio with fellow painter Margaret Cilento. An important member of the circle of Sydney painters including William Dobell, Russell Drysdale & Donald Friend, Haxton left for New York in 1945, arriving on Christmas Eve and went to Peggy Guggenheim’s famous Christmas party, staying at Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water.
