Oak treasure chest iron bound trunk 1750

Provincial baroque oak dome top chest ornate iron bound trunk working wrought iron lock handles 1750. A rarity is that this chest retains its original wrought iron lock and original working key . Still retains its original ornate wrought iron corner clasps and other iron hardware. The original trunk with large wrought iron carry handles to each end. Trunks such as these are usually referred to a Wedding boxes. This chest would contain the precious family linen and other finery that every respectable family would treasure....hence become a treasure chest. European Baroque 18th century
