Antique French Empire small desk reading table in sycamore, birdseye maple and rosewood cross banding Charles X 1820. The top with highly figurative birdseye maple and Bazilian rosewood cross banding over a single drawer that opens with key and working lock. Raised on elegant neoclassical legs with carved circular patera and joined by a turned sycamore stretcher. The scroll feet are raised by the usual period brass castors as these small antique tables were often moved around the room to catch the daylight. French Charles X Empire 1820
