Pair heavy brass candlesticks 1680

Pair heavy 17th century Scandinavian cast brass Candlesticks with drip tray raised on turned feet. Cast and turned in solid brass these original candlesticks would date to late 1680's and are of the Baroque era Scandinavia. Extremely heavy and stable they are cast in sections and from lost wax technique and then refined and chiseled with details such as the winged angel heads on the drip tray. The brass or bronze has been polished and burnished over centuries and has obtained a lovely smooth patina that only comes with time. Swedish 1680 Overall Dimensions Height 27cm Diameter 16cm
