6 French lyre chairs signed maker 1818

Antique French Louis XVI set of 6 lyre back chairs with carved details in the Louis XVI manner . Makers stamp Chartier upholsterer and furniture merchant. P Verlet in his book on French Furniture dates as 1818 at 71 Rue Saint Antoine Paris Similar chairs are in the Music Salon in the Chateau de Bagatelle in Paris. The well carved wooden frames with traditional pegged joint construction. The seats in duck egg blue silk but unfortunately with minor water marks to fabric due to a faulty container seal. Seats were reupholstered 10 years ago. Superb quality French early 19th century.
