Antique Georgian side table in rich red walnut with superb carving and french polished finish Edwardian era circa 1900
Beautifully french polished solid red walnut these sort of small tables were usually called 'silver" tables.
They were made in the early 18th century for the wealthy gentleman to be able to clean his highly valuable silverware, a job not usually entrusted to the servants at the time. The shaped apron allows for legroom of 62 - 57cm.
George I original tables of this type are extremely rare and this Edwardian era table with its low height is ideal as lamp or wine table.
