French cast gilt bronze inkwell 1860

Antique French cast gilt bronze inkwell three herrons surround chiselled ormolu Napoleon III marble 1860. The turned finial top is hinged and reveals the ink well inside. This urn shaped vase is surrounded by three well carved and chiselled herron figures with their heads bowed in reverence for the important work of the writer. Mounted on a bronze naturalistic base to a black marble pedestal. Usually these inkwells have a replacable glass or ceramic insert. There is no insert to this but they are easily acquired online height 35mm x diameter 35mm. The marble base gives firm stability
