French Empire mahogany Bureau Plat writing desk with gilt bronze mounts 4 drawers and leather inlay top A good French Empire 19th century solid mahogany writing desk. The top with gilt tooled black leather insert in very good condition. The desk is fitted with four drawers and is double sided. The central drawer with gilt bronze escutcheons lock and brass key to working lock is flanked by a pair of drawers to the left and a double fronted drawer to the right. Raised on tapered caryatid legs with lions paw feet. Good original french polished finish all round
