Italian baroque figural lamps gilt pair

Pair antique Italian baroque figural lamps in profusely carved walnut with gold leaf watergilt decoration. The pair of statues of noble ladies dressed in gilded Roman Baroque costumes each holding aloft a carved torch (torchere) in silver leaf. These Roman lady statues would originally have been used as candle holders ( torchere) holding aloft a wax candle and have recently been electrified with cloth cord and inline switch. Complete with pleated shades and on original silver leaf carved bases with superb quality patina. Italian Baroque early 1900's in the 17th century manner
