Small cube form, English George III period rosewood tea caddy with fine brass, mother-of-pearl, and string-banded inlay to its perfectly fitted, hinged lid.
The interior of the box and its inner interior lid with its small ivory knop are lined with its original lead foil lining which was thought to keep the tea fresh while the outer interior lid is in rosewood with a string-banded border and decorative brass knop.
The casket retains its original lock and decorative key, both very rare in a piece of this age.
All in all this is a wonderful, fine quality genuine Georgian Caddy.
