The Standard Bearer , Floris Soop (1604-1657). The golden sash is a tooled leather baldric or sword belt and indicates the figure to be an ensign of Amsterdamn's civic guard companies.
Floris Soop was a wealthy man and was a connoisseur of the art world collecting over 140 paintings in his life time as well as a portrait by Rembrandt.
