late 1780's French Louis XVI period writing table lady's desk with one deep drawer with ormolu and original leather inlay.
The solid mahogany top with original insert of sage green leather with gilt edge tooled design. Underneath and hidden within the apron is a deep drawer with working lock and key. The gilt bronze handles in the neoclassical manner. .
The whole raised on turned and tapering neoclassical legs with brass castors and ormolu mounts.
The table retains its gorgeous original shellac french polished finish.
