Tall silver Empire candlesticks prickets

Tall pair of tall silver giltwood French Empire period pricket candlesticks with carved details matt and burnished silvered wood. Original wrought iron candle pricket top, these gorgeous candelsticks are made of fruitwood with turned and carved details. The surface is smoothed with gesso and then silver leaf is applied and partially burnished to a fine smooth surface. Raised on fluted pedestals with carved lion feet. The front of each pedestal with fluted details and the back with an inscribed panel, illegible. Minor losses to some silver edges consistent with age and use. French Empire
