Empire silvered candlestick pricket 1810

Rare pair silver gilt French Empire period pricket candlesticks with carved details matt and burnished silvered wood. With original wrought iron candle pricket top, these gorgeous candelsticks are made of fruitwood with turned and carved details. The surface is smoother with gesso and then silver leaf is applied and partially burnished. Superb sculptural objects for any mantlepiece. Raised on fluted pedestals with carved tripod feet.
