Antique original French Empire portico clock Louis Philippe by C.F. Petit circa 1840 with engine turned silvered dial gilt bronze ormolu mounts and marquetry inlaid case.
The portico four column case in Barzilian rosewood with satinwood marquetry inlay . The columns with gilt bronze mounts in superb condition.
The clock mechanism is marked by the maker C. F. Petit and the retailer Linet Freres a Paris.
8 day works with silvered bell strike and very rare gilt bronze snake hands to dial.
Good original working order.
