A Scandinavian solid oak chest of drawers of the late Gustavian period circa 1780.
The oak chest is made in three sections in the Campaign style for easy carrying up those narrow 18th century stone staircases.
The top section with a deep top drawer adorned by roundels is opened in the traditional manner with a push pull key to working lock with ornate gilt wreath escutcheon.
Two more drawers below are fitted with bronze handles. This section lifts off the two lower drawers section which in turn lifts off the plinth base with is ornate carved oak cabriole legs.
