Danish Empire black longcase clock Westh

Antique Danish Gustavian grandfather clock with carved hand painted black japan finish with gold leaf carvings. The long case with original cleaned working 8 day mechanism. The case in the decorative Gustavian manner finished in antique ebonised black patinated hand painted finish with gilt gold leaf highlights to carvings. A dentilled ornate crown moulding above the clock case of the provincial Empire period of neoclassical design. The 8 day mechanism has been cleaned and oiled and works well. The clock face is dated and signed when last restored by M. P Westh in 1868. Denmark 1820's
