Birdseye maple framed engraving Chaptal

Large Original French engraving by Lemercier and Benard of Jean Antoine Chaptal 1756-1832 Jean Antoine Chaptal was the a multi talented man of knowledge. He was well versed in medicine, chemistry and applied siences. He was appointed Minister of the Interior under Napoleon 1801-1804 The lithographers and printers Lemercier and Benard were the largest publishers of fine art engravings in Paris. This particular lithograph engraving is signed in the plate Manrin and dates from 1832-1836. Presented under glass and in a birdseye maple frame of the Louis Philippe period ( 1830-1848)
