Antique 18th century baroque waxed oak bureau writing desk with fitted interior enhanced in 1832 with inlay in ebony and birch . Typical of the northern Europe baroque 18th century period the solid bleached oak writing desk with fall front desk top opens with a steel key to working lock. A pair of shallow drawers below the desk are flanked by the automata self extending support rails.. an ingenious design! The slope top desk opens to reveal a fitted multi drawer interior with central door with later inlaid ebony and date as dedication perhaps as a wedding gift? 1780 with later inlay
