Antique oval neoclassical mirror wooden

Antique oval French Louis XVI mirror with elegant carved gilt wood frame with fluting and pearl string 1890. The timless design and precise carved wooden frame with its neoclassical radiating flutes and string of pearls is similar to some Irish Georgian era mirror frames of the 1770's. Classic oval shaped mirrors were highly popular at the beginning of the 20th century. The demand for good quality frames has not diminished since. The ornate carved wooden frame is covered in old gold paint and probably hides the original water gilt finish underneath. Scandinavian late 19th century
