Baroque provincial painted Spice Cabinet

Provincial wall hung spice cabinet with single door and drawer Scandinavian baroque style hand painted finish . Usually made for the newly married couple these spice cabinets were given as a wedding present and were designed to keep the highly prized spices and precious silverware well away from inquisitive young fingers. The cupboard would have been hung high on a wall in pride of place. A single door with framed panel inset opens with a steel key through ornate steel escutcheon to a working lock . A single drawer below with turned steel knob.
