Solid brass warming pan on tripod lions paw feet. The shaped dish with engraved lines to bowl with riveted brass handle shaft and with a turned walnut handle. The three applied brass lions paw feet (one with a later solder repair) add to the stability of this pan. Usually used to heat things from underneath, a posnet is a traditional dish with a long handle like a skillet pan and was deigned to hold embers in the dish. The turned walnut handle takes this utilitarian object to another level as walnut was very expensive. English late Georgian circa 1820 Weight 250 grams
