Empire chest of 3 drawers 1810

Antique Empire chest of three drawers in flame mahogany with inlaid birch arch original locks and key 1810 Each drawer with book matched mahogany fronts and original locks and a working steel key. They open in the traditional push or pull on the key. The drawers are step fronted with the middle drawer inlaid with an satinwood arch and two birch circles with ormolu stars. Ornate brass escutcheons and demi-lune ormolu to skirt fitted into a recessed cartouch. The whole raised on elegant taper legs. This small chest has very good original patina with a lovely rich colour to the mahogany.
