Gilt bronze French Rococo clock Bacchus

French rococo heavy gilded bronze clock adorned with a baby Bacchus cherub and in beautiful original condition. A bronze framed watch glass door covers the hand painted enamel face with roman numerals and gilt brass hands. In good original working order the two train movement with silvered bell strike. A brass door covers the back of the clock mechanism. The gilded bronze bronze chiselled case is in nice clean condition. Beautifully chiselled details with highly burnished sections to emphasise the quality of the gilding. The clock weighs around 5 kg France 1855
