Antique Baronial style heradic hall chairs with unusual turners backrests and Gothic arched bases in fruitwood.
17th century period chairs are usually much smaller in size but these impressive chairs were made for the more prosperous gentry with higher seats.
The original finish is a value point. The back demonstrates the art of the wheelwright as inventive cabinet maker and turner being permanently employed on the estate.
Possibly Austrian or North Italian 1830 in the gothic manner.
Priced as pair.
