Large Oil painting Return to Rome signed

Large Original oil painting on canvas in the manner of Giovanni Paolo Pannini "The return to Rome" mounted in carved gold frame signed lower right corner. Panini (1691-1765) was a painter and architect and is best known for his views of ancient Rome. This painting depicts the triumphant return to Rome accompanied by the call of the trumpets heralding in the apostle surrounded by the architectural ruins, dance and musicians . The paintings is very well executed and framed in an ornate carved and gold leafed frame in the French Louis XV manner. Signed "M P" lower right and undated.
