The tall case in typical Gustavian form with hand painted finish and with gold leaf gilt highlights to carvings and patina. A carved arch top crown moulding above the clock case of the provincial Empire period of neoclassical design. This clock demonstrates the sharing and inspiration of styles between the 3 Scandinavian kingdoms or Norway, Denmark and Sweden in the 18th century. The brass clock mechanism with top mounted large bell. Sweden 1835 or earlier
