Antique railway clock with metal case on mahogany plinth. The original brass fusee movement with spring suspension is an engineering masterpiece by master instrument makers W. Parkinson and Co.
The enamel dial with hand painted Roman numerals and blue steel hands and inscribed :
W. Parkinson & Co
Cottage lane, City Road, London.
The Parkinson company can be traced back from 1816 through to 1937. This clock would have stood in a station masters office.
2 keys supplied, one for winding the other to access the backdoor lock to the pendulum.
