Rare Provincial 19th century painted wall hung spice cabinet with floral painted detail and wrought iron lock and key.
Usually made for the wedding of a farming couple these spice cabinets were a traditional hand made present and were designed to keep the highly prized spices and silver spoons inherited from previous generations over the centuries safe and secure away from young fingers..
The cupboard would have been hung from a wall in pride of place. Two original wrought iron hooks still attached one per side.
A single door opens with a steel key and has a floral hand painted panel.
