Walnut rococo armchair 18th century

18th century walnut armchair Rococo period carved scroll arms original patina 1750. The well carved sturdy walnut frame with original polished finish. The chair back with pierced scroll carving to top and rocaille shaped back design with hand woven cane. Two scroll arms join the back and seat which is also with woven rattan cane. Carved elegant scroll shaped cabriole legs with serpentine fronts. The unusual for the period large sized seat indicates this chair was made for the wealthy and influential household. The seat height is 46cm so perfect for a squab cushion for extra comfort.
