Large unusual carved mahogany armchair with scroll back and armrests in mahogany circa 1835.
The harp shaped open back with acanthus carved scrolls and carved backsplat. Two elegant scrolling arms join the large and unusually comfortable seat covered in woolwork needlepoint fabric. Raised on elegant cabriole front legs with escargot feet.
Ideal for use as a fauteuil de Bureau or desk chair in front of a fall front desk. Good seat height of 49cm .
Features original polished finish in good condition consistent with age and use. A good strong sturdy antique armchair with lots of character.
