Signed by the the artist Jan Sirks Lower right .
Jan Sirks (Rotterdam, 23 February 1885 - Zeist, 11 March 1938) was a Dutch graphic designer who mostly did painting, watercolours, drawings and etchings of the Rotterdam harbours, animals, cityscapes and landscapes in a romantic realistic style. Sirks was a co-founding member of the Rotterdam-based artists group "De Branding". Despite the fact that Sirks was an autodidact, he was one of the few locals who in the art world has had a relatively good existence.
